I was born in June 1983 in Reims, Champagne, France. After a Bachelor of science followed by a master in Inorganic and Bio-inorganic chemistry at the universities of Reims (France), TU München (Germany), and Grenoble (France), I completed a Ph.D. (2006-2009) in coordination chemistry and redox reactivity of uranium with Marinella Mazzanti at the CEA of Grenoble, France. I then joined Dick Andersen's lab at the University of California Berkeley for two fantastic years, working on low-valent organometallics and studying their odd electronic structures in depth.
I returned to France at the end of 2011 as a CNRS researcher at the Laboratoire de Chimie Moléculaire (Molecular Chemistry Lab) of the Ecole polytechnique, a leading science, and technology institution in France. I am now developing research on organometallic compounds with potential applications in small molecule activation and catalysis. We are interested in the deep study of the characteristics of the new molecules and use many different spectroscopies. I have been appointed Directeur de Recherche (CNRS) in October 2024.
I received the bronze medal of the CNRS in 2016, the Young Investigator Prize, and I have several research grants from the french national agency (ANR) for research and the European Research Council (ERC Starting Grant, 2016 and Consolidator Grant, 2022). Since 2018, I am also an associate professor (Professeur chargé de cours) at Ecole polytechnique and teach symmetry and spectroscopy (including NMR) as well as supramolecular chemistry. I was appointed Vice-President of the Chemistry department in January 2022.
